Let’s Check Out the Explanation of the Parasite Ending Scene, Here!

In 2019, many people turned their attention to the South Korean movie Parasite. It is because the quality of the storyline, as well as the cinematography, are so good that they managed to get 4 Oscars in 2020. Not only that, but Parasite also successfully won trophies at the BAFTA Awards and the Golden Globes. This drama starred by Choi Woo-sik lifts up the realistic life story of people of different social statuses who are put together in the same sphere.

Moreover, people were very shocked by the ending scene of this movie. So, in this article, Channel-Korea will provide you with information about the Parasite ending scene. Stay tuned!

Parasite is a rather particular film, difficult to classify in a genre. The beginning of the film is presented as a comedy but little by little, the feature film takes unexpected turns. Be that as it may, Parasite delivers a cruel and exciting storyline with many twists that are difficult to anticipate. We do not feel any length during these 2 hours 10.
The film also offers us a powerful social criticism. We find a recurring theme in Bong Joon-ho’s filmography: the differences in social class, a theme already at the center of Snowpiercer. The director also criticizes a system pushing individuals to take sometimes radical decisions, which we found more in Mother.
This statement on social classes is also illustrated in the film with the stairs. We notice that when the characters use the stairs, the way they are filmed is very symmetrical and choreographed. Two shots of the stairs will mark the retina, one with Gi-taek’s family descending them in the rain and one where the Park family climbing them to the shelter of their home. Very evocative plans.

At the beginning of the film, the situations are evoked in a comical way. The humor works very well and the passages of scams are delectable. But little by little, the humor fades to give way to a darker atmosphere despite slight touches of absurdity that persist. The more the film progresses, the more everything is shown in a very raw way, going as far as violence. The film ends with a particularly intense and moving end that leaves no one indifferent.

We follow all these endearing characters despite their flaws and their choices beyond all morality. This question of morality is also very well questioned in the film by these characters with certain hard-hitting lines. The actors are all incredible and master both comic and dramatic registers. Song Kang-ho, the director’s favorite actor is once again stunning in this film.

Parasite is a masterpiece of achievement. The film is full of gorgeous symmetrical shots and the photography is impeccable. The vastness of the house where most of the situations take place is very well highlighted and the different plans give a real soul to this house. Some passages use slow motion and this sublimates the image. We will also remember the part in the pouring rain at the end which is a gem of achievement.

In conclusion, Parasite is a huge film. A poignant social critique, a powerful script and an impeccable realization, everything comes together to have a masterpiece. A great success for Bong Joon-ho and a fully deserved Palme d’or.
